Pub for sale in LancashireAN historic pub set to close down may never re-open, bosses fear.Bosses at Admiral Taverns, which runs the popular pub, said that the only interest so far in the property has been from developers outside the pub trade. The pub is set to close in days unless a new buyer is found. Hyndburn Borough Coun-cil’s local member Colette McCormack said the closure of the Printers would be a “big loss to the town”. The Printers, which has been in the town as a pub for more than 100 years, has been valued at £185,000. Paramount Investments managing director Mark Greig, who is handling the sale, said: “If no publican or pub company steps forward to save The Printers, it may cease to be a pub at all. “It is set to close at the end of the month and so far the only interest has been from retail and property devel-opers. “We would much rather see it remain as a pub but we have to listen to reason-able offers.” Figures from CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) show 56 pubs are closing permanently every month. Coun McCormack, who represents the Immanuel ward of Oswaldtwistle, said: “The closure of this pub would be a real blow to the town and a loss to the community. “When a pub like this, which can be a real comm-unity hub, goes then it’s likely that it will never come back. “There are so many board-ed up pubs in the borough that something should really be done to improve the situation.” Anyone interested in the Printers should visit www.para mount-investments.co.uk.
